Install of Doors & Frames
The building code of Australia requires all fire doors to be installed in accordance to as 1905:1:1997

Door Frame Fitting
Generally installed by the builder, steel fire door frames must be manufactured in accordance to as 1905. (these door frames are manufactured differently to conventional door frames). Care must be taken in ensuring correct install to the frl requirement as well as squareness and plumb level prior to door install.

Fire Door Fitting:
Clearance between door leaf and frame must be no more than 3mm and clearance between bottom of door leaf and any floor covering is to be no less than 3mm and no more than 10mm.
Special attention must be made to ensure the door leaf is hung the correct way. Pacific Doors fire doors like most contain reinforcing plates within the door to accept hinges, lock and closer. The doors are marked and stamped at the top hinge stiles.
